Reds Opening Day

Thursday, April 5, 2012: 11am – 10pm

In Cincinnati, Opening Day is a local holiday celebrated with an all-day party on Fountain Square.

This year, the traditional Findlay Market Opening Day Parade passed by Fountain Square in the early afternoon, while Local 12 WKRC-TV and Give Back Cincinnati, a volunteer organization for young professionals hosted a rally with giveaways and activities from PNC, Cincinnati Bell, Skyline Chili, Wellington Orthopedic, and Brown Mackie College.

After the parade, hundreds gathered to watch the Reds beat the Florida Marlins on Fountain Square’s video screen, while Give Back Cincinnati continued their event into the evening with live music, more food, and Christian Moerlein beer. (All proceeds from beer sales benefited Give Back Cincinnati.)
